Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how FinReg Swiss processes personal data in connection with this website. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the Data Protection Ordinance (DPO).
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
FinReg Swiss
8032 Zürich
Switzerland
Email: info@finregswiss.ch
If you have any questions about data protection or wish to exercise your rights, you can contact us at any time at the email address above.
2. Principles
We only process personal data to the extent necessary to operate this website, respond to enquiries, send the newsletter or provide our services, or where you have given your consent. We process personal data in good faith, proportionately and for specific purposes.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (Cloudflare Pages) and delivered via Cloudflare’s global server network. When you visit the website, the hosting provider automatically collects technical data and stores it in server log files, in particular:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of access
- page or file accessed and amount of data transferred
- referrer URL (previously visited page)
- browser type, browser version and operating system
This data is processed to ensure secure and stable operation, to deliver content via a global server network (content delivery network) and to fend off attacks. It is not combined with other data sources and is deleted after a short period. As the hosting provider is based in the USA, data may be transferred to the USA (see section 10).
4. Cookies, local storage and analytics
This website does not use cookies or any analytics or tracking tools. The fonts used are loaded directly from our server; no data is transferred to third parties (e.g. Google). If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is stored exclusively in your browser (local storage) and is not transmitted to us.
5. Contact form and contact by email
If you use our contact form, we process the data you provide (name, company, position, email address, optionally phone number, number of employees, regulation, topic and message) in order to respond to your enquiry. The details are processed via a function of our hosting provider Cloudflare and delivered to us as an email by the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). The data is not used for any other purpose and is not passed on to further third parties.
To protect against spam, the form may use the Cloudflare Turnstile service. It checks technical characteristics of your browser without setting advertising cookies.
If you contact us by email (e.g. to send an employee list), we process the data you provide to handle your request and to provide our services. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Newsletter (Brevo)
You can subscribe to our newsletter with monthly updates on FINMA regulation and AML topics on this website. Your email address and your consent are required to subscribe.
We use the Brevo service of Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France, to send the newsletter. When you subscribe, your email address, the time of subscription and your IP address are transmitted to and stored by Brevo. Brevo processes the data on our behalf on servers in the European Union.
We use a double opt-in procedure: after subscribing, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. Only then will you be added to the mailing list.
Our newsletters may contain technical elements that record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. This analysis serves to improve our content.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the end of each newsletter or by sending an email to info@finregswiss.ch. After unsubscribing, your email address will be deleted from or blocked on the mailing list. More information: Brevo privacy policy.
7. Learning platform (LearnWorlds) and payments (Stripe)
Our e-learning platform (login, courses, free demo, purchase of the individual certification) is operated at academy.finregswiss.ch using software from LearnWorlds (CY) Ltd., Cyprus. This website merely links to the platform; when you follow such a link, you leave this website and no data is transmitted from this website to LearnWorlds.
The learning platform processes in particular account data (name, email address, company), learning progress, test results, certificates and – in the case of purchases – billing data in order to provide the training, the audit trail and the audit reports. The platform may set its own cookies. The platform’s privacy notice, which you can view there, applies.
Online payments are processed via the payment service provider Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). Your payment data (e.g. credit card details) is collected and processed directly by Stripe; we do not receive complete card details. Stripe may also transfer data to the USA. The Stripe privacy policy applies.
8. Appointment booking (Calendly)
To book a demo, we link to the Calendly service (Calendly LLC, USA). You are only redirected to Calendly when you click the link. The data you enter there (e.g. name, email address, preferred time) is processed by Calendly and made available to us to hold the appointment. The Calendly privacy policy applies.
9. Links to third-party websites
This website contains links to external websites (e.g. LinkedIn, client websites, specialist articles). The operators of those websites are solely responsible for the data processing on them.
10. Disclosure abroad
Personal data may be disclosed to service providers in countries outside Switzerland, in particular in the European Union (Brevo, LearnWorlds, Stripe) and the USA (Cloudflare, Resend, Calendly, Stripe). For countries without adequate data protection, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, in particular certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
11. Retention
We only retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations.
12. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. This website is transmitted in encrypted form via HTTPS.
13. Your rights
Within the framework of applicable data protection law, you have in particular the following rights:
- information on whether and which personal data we process about you
- correction of inaccurate personal data
- deletion or destruction of your personal data
- release or transfer of your personal data in a common electronic format
- objection to certain data processing and withdrawal of consent given
To exercise your rights, simply send an email to info@finregswiss.ch. You also have the right to file a report with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).
14. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website applies. In the event of discrepancies between the German and English versions, the German version shall prevail.
